The New Year, The Geek, and Coppermine 1.42
Look, I know its the New Year tonight, but I can't help being a geek. Yup, after so many years, I'm finally owning up to being one. This means I can add this atop my other nicknames such as world-famous raconteur, high-flying adventurer, swashbuckling debonair man about town, and all sorts of adjectives of the dexterously dashing and prodigious variety.
At any rate, here I am Dec. 31, installing Coppermine 1.42 (released Nov. 24, 2005), and I'm thinking. Hey, this is cool. Hey, that new feature is tight. Hey, I've always wanted that. And Hey, I gotta get a life. Continue reading
Tayo’y magsikap upang makamtan natin ang kasaganaan
I'm not really sure why I chose the above to be my title (the 2nd stanza to Ang Pasko Ay Sumapit in case that sounds familiar). I guess LSS has something to do with, other than being catchy as well. Continue reading

Lechon, Journalists, and the AGJA Christmas party
I finished my articles around 5:30pm yesterday, and as I was savoring the sweet, sweet feeling of having been able to submit two articles before the deadline, I suddently decided, heck why not go to the Asian Gaming Journalists Association(AGJA) Christmas party?

So.. is your Websight BC?
Just a real quick post to show this:

Pic I took of the BC Websight Internet Cafe down at Farmer's Plaza Mall Cubao QC, the one you have to pass through from the MRT to get to Gateway.
I loooove loser malls like those. Two similar places I can think of are Makati Cinema Square (in Makati of course) and Starmall across Shangrila at the intersection of Crossing and Shaw Boulevard Mandaluyong. Continue reading
back to (predicting) the future
Ahhh yes. December is the time for Christmas. For gift-giving. For singing carols. For gathering friends, family and loved ones.
And for me to write the most hated, feared and usually botched up stupid excuse of a writing exercise waste - of - valuable - space, time, money and effort article of the year - the "Fearless Forecast" - where I sum up what I, in my most wildest, weirdest and wackiest attempt, try to figure out what's gonna happen next year in modern technology. of failed backups and stressed sassy lawyers
According to the movie Pushing Tin airline traffic controllers have some of the most stressful jobs there is. While I fully agree the idea of controlling the fate of hundreds of lives can weigh quite heavily on anyone, I'm sure a sys admin's work (in varying degrees), can rank amongst those as well.
Yuga of Yugatech.com blogged about Sassylawyer's ongoing backup woes recently, and Ms. Connie has written about it as well (that link is bound to change as her blog isn't fully online yet and she put up a static page for the moment). Continue reading

Jingle Bells lang ang pahinga
The title is inspired by a jeep I occasionally see plying the Ortigas Antipolo route, with a sign at the back that says "Jingle Lang Ang Pahinga", I've obviously changed somewhat to reflect a Holiday theme.
However, the underlying message is the same. This past week eVery waking hour had been accounted for, either working on one client or another, or writing one article after another, that even as I review my little scheduler on how I spent those days, it still all feels like a daze. Continue reading
I’m Relieved At Returning The Goodies In One Piece
Today I return the goodies lent me, namely, the Motorola e680i and it's sidekick, the Bluetooth headphones HT820, the Panasonic EB-VS3, the fabulous Motorola ROKR E1.
The subsequent write ups (can't really call them reviews in the strictest sense as I wrote with a 'lifestyle' bent), are here for the ROKR E1, and here for the e680i and the ht820. Continue reading
