Epixtar Doesn’t Like Bloggers
Some new developments on this silly Epixtar thing. But before that, a backgrounder: Like I said in post last January 10, Migs made a post about how the local Epixtar's callcenter might be in for a rough ride after how their offices in Florida, US filed for bankruptcy. There was a reference to an alleged phone cramming situation, indicating this might be the reason for said bankruptcy.
At any rate, on January 12 someone named "Karl" made a very long comment with a list of names and their salaries, looking like it was lifted directly from a spreadsheet. This happened with Migs as well, although in his case the poster was "Gary" (definitely not me).

Peja traded for CJ Johnson
The shooter position in the Indiana Pacers team is an esteemed place in the basketball world.
Mainly because you're gonna get comparisons to Reggie Miller, a tall order if there ever was one.

Kobe ain’t got nuthin. Against Kobe. Virtually.
I got the idea from Jeremy Clarkson's Top Gear episode wherein he tried to beat his time of 1 minute 41 seconds in Gran Turismo on the same track on the same car except in real life. Continue reading
I wanna see DLSU play
I'll tell you what. Inasmuch as I completely despise the (alleged) cheating situation at DLSU, and the ensuing investigation that left more questions than answers, I gotta say that La Salle's leave of absense from the UAAP is not the right step to alleviate the situation. Sure DLSU deserves to get punished. And I promise you, that says a lot coming from me, who has followed the UAAP and DLSU long enough for me to be embarrassed to admit it. (which is a big no-no since on my blog, I am forever young.) Continue reading

I’ll Make You A Free Blog. For Free. Yeah.
I just gotta say I'm really proud of how the U.P. Portia blog has been doing. According to our site stats, it gets its fair share of hits, totalling 918 so far since January 7.
Truth is, we had no idea a blog format would've done ok for our purpose. The initial sample I made was mostly static with a link to a forum. Also, I kept insisting we get them a proper .org domain, but again that didn't work out, mostly because of a measure of unsurety of authority (it's pro bono work by Jill), and its maintenance after she graduates. As a matter of fact that question is still up in the air, but someone should be able to take up the cudgels by that time.

Microsoft system engineers work for the Borg!
Viruses can do some strange and wonderful things. Of these the windows metafile situation is by far the most amazing. Consider for instance, that you are viewing a webpage with your favorite internet browser on your favorite operating system. You reach a website with an embedded .wmf file, and voila!

Epixtar must be a fun place to work
The chief recently pointed out a post he made recently wherein he seemed to have ruffled a few callcenter feathers.
Upon learning of Epixtar Corp.'s ongoing Chapter 11 registration both in Miami US and locally, the chief wondered aloud whether a callcenter career in Epixtar House Eastwood would still count as a viable career. Continue reading

Now Blogging – The U.P. Portia Sorority!
The University of the Philippine's Portia Sorority has been around for 72 years, counting such luminaries as Justice Cecilia Munoz Palma and Haydee Yorac as sisters, and so it's just righteous that they find a suitable place on the web.
Henceforth - the Portia Blog! Rising in all its blue and white (yes blue and white. gasp.) glory, from the efforts of Jill, and myself. Continue reading
