Joker Arroyo blew his top at Lozada before he finished recounting how he had a meeting with the Senator's wife. And as I watched at how Lozada started raising his patent girly voice in surprise, eventually leading to tears, I just had to wonder if Lozada knew what he was getting into when he got there. Apparently, judging from his reaction, he doesn't.

Jun Lozada imho, is either naive or in denial. He clearly doesn't see that in politics, he has no friends. As he declares how much of a fan he is of Joker Arroyo, the surprise in his voice at Joker's anger was hard to mask. Lozada is a babe in the woods, and to his credit he admits as much. He is completely clueless to the fact that at this point, he shouldn't trust anyone, because in politics it is every man for himself, each one looking out for number one. So if he really truly believes that Mike Defensor, Sec. Atienza, or anyone else amongst his proferred friends would not sell their souls to see him shut up, he's sure to be crying even more in the days to come.

My heart really does go out to him. Lozada has yet to show any signs of inconsistency, not even reaction or behaviour that'd make me doubt him. Of course, that alone isn't enough to prove he's without guilt. But if you were to judge guilt or innocence based on raw emotion and reactions alone, then he is as innocent as he says he is.

I watched the whole hearing today, and that's the only thing I can surmise from the whole affair. Well, other than the fact that the PNP - AVG are a collection of idiots, equal only in sheer stupidity and boneheadedness to our Airport Security.

Oh, and the Senators who had proven themselves to be the best speakers are still the same, namely Roxas, Escudero, Villar and unfortunately, Enrile. Jinggoy actually gave a good accounting of himself, aided probably by the fact that he really prepared for this one. Meanwhile Gordon, who's usually much better, was a picture of the opposite, asking questions he clearly should've known the answers to if he had just at least read the papers today. Jamby Madrigal was as obtuse, biased and ill-conceived as ever, asking questions about ZTE when they should be focusing on the kidnapping issue. Revilla's intellect, if you can call it that, belongs to the level of the PNP-AVG, while Loren could've and should've done better. Joker meanwhile couldn't put two sentences together, stammering, stumbling and constantly losing sight of his point. Maybe that's what happens when you sell out.

As for Lozada, every time he cries, I just want to say, 'Jun, why do you still believe you have friends?'. Inasmuch as he's a grown man, he seems yet to learn that the world is ten times cruel to people who like to say the truth. Today I witnessed a man in a snake pit, but instead of a Gladiator fending off evil dressed in fancy armor, we have a man who's eyes pop out their sockets, shocked at every untruth he hears. I don't care really. I'd rather have an honest man than a macho one.

So much for my previous post, re Keeping Focus. One thing's for sure, the Senate hearings is the most riveting show on Earth.

to get my license renewed.

So off I go.

1.5 hours later:

ahhhm back!

and once again, plagued by the inefficiencies of the LTO / my bad luck with official documents of any nature per se.

As per the LTO, it all started last year when I was trying to update the address on my card - type driver's license, which helps as an ID when you're trying to cash checks or whatever.

Anyway, after a looong wait caused by the fact that the Mayor of Cainta just waltzed in and skipped the lines to get his license renewed, the ladies at the LTO spelled my name wrong. After that, they entered my old Mandaluyong address again (I was trying to update it to my new Cainta address, remember?). After that there was another mistake, then BANG it turns out they can only make 3 mistakes after which you'd need to come back - get this - 5 MONTHS LATER. Apparently it has to do with running out of batch numbers or some internal thing. Meanwhile they issue you 3 pieces of paper consisting of LTO receipts plus some official looking document that says 'Temporary License'.

So, no biggie, but still, I wanted a plastic license - which for ID purposes as I previously explained, is far more reliable to get me through ID checks, as opposed to these stapled pieces of paper that make me have to go through a second or third look.

Well, month after month passed by, and since this sort of thing always falls at the bottom of priorities (since I can drive anyway - which is what's important), I let it lapse several months still.

Until finally today when I felt my sched was free enough to get it done and lo and behold: The guy at Window 3 just stamps the (now crumbling) pieces of stapled paper, signs it, and EXTENDS THE DATE ANOTHER 5 MONTHS.

Thing is, I'm not really big on complaining especially considering that hey, I can drive still anyway, but isn't this getting ridiculous? I asked him what I could do to finally get the plastic card type and I was directed to go to LTO Main at QC, where God knows what other pleasures await. Either that or, I was thinking I can just declare it lost, and go through the whole drug testing etc. etc. dance to get a 'new' one. Of course that's wholly dependent on how difficult dealing with LTO Main is to begin with and the only way to find out is - yes - go there.

Sigh.

Whatever. We'll see. In the meantime as of this very moment I'm starting to list whatever else things I need to do for the day, and sure enough renewing my license is gonna get buried under "Pay Supplier" and "Test New Site" sort of things to do. Meanwhile those crumbling pieces of stapled LTO papers will remain in my wallet for yet another half a year.

Article here. Looking at that thing you have to wonder how powerful it'd have been to rip away from some basement, up the ground floor, cause that amount of destruction there and still pop away a skylight at the top.

Anyway, Yes I'm starting to wonder if it was a bomb. No, I don't think this guy Trillanes makes sense, mainly because if the gov't really was behind this like he says it is, then why the heck isn't he spilling out who his witness is yet? I mean he's already in jail so what has he got to lose?

Truth is, the fact there are unsubstantiated claims that the gov't is behind this is accomplishing what the gov't would have sought to do (which is draw attention away from GMA's corruption charges). I'd love the chance to point a finger at the gov't if they really are responsible for this, but those saying so should either put up or shut up.
